The way Jiraiya’s final message came across felt so eerie, yet it was also incredibly poignant that only Naruto, his last student, could decipher his notoriously messy script to unlock the true meaning. I couldn't help but feel a pang for Naruto, carrying that heavy responsibility while trying to understand Pervy Sage's last words.

I almost forgot how much I missed seeing Kakashi get totally flustered while reading those dirty books in front of everyone

Hearing that Naruto has to die to learn this new sage power sounds like a lot but seeing him arrive at the mountain and immediately hate the bug food was classic

That moment when Nagato dropped the bomb that *this* Pain was just a puppet sent chills down my spine, honestly. It makes me wonder what terrifying level of power the actual guy is operating on, after seeing all the devastation 'he' already brought.

As Naruto set off for Mount Myoboku, ready to take on the Akatsuki, I was so invested in him getting this power-up, but then that fleeting memory of Jiraiya's "ta" character hit me differently. To remember such a specific, almost hidden quirk about his master's writing, it tells me how truly observant Naruto was of Jiraiya, and how those small, everyday details formed the bedrock of their bond. It’s like Jiraiya's still guiding him, even now.

I was genuinely so relieved when Shikamaru managed to pull Naruto out of his funk; you could just tell how much Jiraiya's death was weighing on him, and they really needed his insight for breaking that code. It makes me think about how reliable Shikamaru always is, even when he acts like everything's a drag.

The reveal that Pain is just remote bodies controlling the fight is honestly such a chilling thought, and it makes me wonder if that's why he seems so unaffected by the destruction. I'm just so on edge thinking about Naruto still being gone while Konoha is getting absolutely devastated.

Wait, so Jiraiya's telling Naruto he literally might have to die just to get this Sage Mode? My jaw dropped when I heard that, like, this isn't just another Rasengan, they're really pushing him to his absolute limit here and it makes me wonder how he's even gonna approach training after hearing something like that.

I seriously gasped when Fukasaku dropped the bomb that Naruto could literally die trying to master Sage Mode; it just amps up the crazy stakes for me and makes me wonder if he's really ready to face that kind of risk for Konoha.

I gotta admit, the reveal that Pain isn't actually among them during those fights is super weird, it totally threw me off. Now I'm left wondering if he's even a single person or if there's someone else entirely pulling the strings from the shadows, which feels like a whole new level of dangerous.

I actually got a little misty-eyed watching Naruto figure out Jiraiya's messy handwriting; it just really highlights how much time they spent together, even down to the little details. It's a bittersweet reminder of their bond, showing just how deeply Jiraiya impacted him.

I gotta say, Jiraiya leaving those pervy books as his last message was such a classic move, but seeing Kakashi's face while he had to read them out loud seriously made me crack up even through the sadness of it all.

I felt so much for Tsunade in that moment, seeing her put all her hope into Naruto as the child of prophecy. My heart ached watching her try to be strong, clearly still heartbroken over Jiraiya, and it made me wonder just how much she's banking on Naruto fulfilling that dream.

I literally burst out laughing watching Kakashi squirm while he had to read those Icha Icha books; my man was clearly internally screaming. But then that reveal that Pain isn't actually among them just made my stomach drop, because now I'm thinking, who could possibly be pulling all these strings if it's not even him, and how much crazier is this going to get?

My jaw legitimately dropped when they revealed Pain wasn't just one guy, but a whole squad of bodies working together—I mean, how was Nagato even pulling that off all this time? And then that cryptic code message totally left me buzzing, trying to figure out if there's an even bigger puppet master behind the scenes that we haven't even seen yet.

I was so relieved when Shikamaru and Iruka showed up, seeing them support Naruto through his grief just felt right. It really made me feel like he wasn't alone, and that transition to training hit differently knowing his friends had his back after everything.

Fukasaku whisking Naruto away felt like such a sudden but necessary move, and honestly, I was a little worried if he'd even be ready to focus after everything with Jiraiya. But seeing him immediately jump into sage training, even while hurting, just makes me think he's really channeling all that pain into pure determination to take on Pain.

My heart completely shattered when I figured out that "nine" wasn't just a number, but a reference to Jiraiya's books, meaning only Naruto could ever truly get that message. It just hit me how much Jiraiya really did pour into Naruto, trusting him with something so deeply personal, even in his final moments.

Ugh, when I heard that code about the "real one" not being among them, it seriously sent shivers down my spine. It just makes me wonder who else is out there and how much more messed up the Akatsuki's plans really are for the Leaf Village.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off the devastating emotional fallout of Jiraiya's death, episode 154 channels that grief into forward momentum by centering on his final encoded message. It serves as a critical connective episode between the mourning phase and Naruto's next major evolution, laying the groundwork for his pursuit of Sage Jutsu training. This is canon material that transitions the narrative from loss into preparation for one of Shippuden's most significant power-up arcs.
