Naruto, bless his heart, actually thought Sasuke would just pack up and come home after his spat with Orochimaru, and I just couldn't believe his optimism there. Jiraiya had to give him a cold dose of reality, and it hit me how that same unwavering determination of his, the one I usually admire, can sometimes just blind him to the painful truth about his friend.
