EPISODE REVIEWS

Since Mameda never live in a human world, she needs to learn to understand and work together with human. That is what was taught by Bunko, and also Rakugo is not something like you can pull it off alone.

I like how this ep focused on how Mameda is learning rakugo through observation and patience, this made me like her character even more. I also commend the writing for some gentle world building about the Taisho era. I felt a bit more emotions here, it maybe because of the small moments of connection all through out the episode. The pacing here is comfortable and they are just taking their sweet time to build characters.

This episode is the definition of rich character building via colour palettes. The anime introduces a stark, brightly lit modern restaurant interior where Mameda must learn to blend in properly as a server.
