It was a good start. Like many other series, the first episode explains the origin of what happened. I also liked that it included a battle scene right away, which made the episode more appealing.

Oh, what a throwback. Muv Luv series was my second touch into Mecha genre after Gundam, I was 12 when I discovered the VN. Military and mecha nerds would love this show, every piece of machinery are animated beautifully and mega-hype OST to pump up the action scene.
