Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation
Oshimeter
Synopsis
After wasting thirty-four years locked in his room without once stepping outside, a shut-in dies doing the one brave thing he's ever attempted, only to wake up as a newborn baby in a fantasy world. That's the setup for Mushoku Tensei, and what makes it hit different from most isekai is that Rudeus Greyrat isn't some overpowered hero from minute one. He's a deeply flawed guy carrying all the regret and trauma of a wasted life, now trying to actually do things right the second time around. He's got the mind of an adult but he's learning to walk, learning magic from a talented mage named Roxy, and figuring out how to form real human connections for the first time, starting with his parents and a shy girl named Sylphiette. The emotional weight of someone genuinely trying to grow as a person, even from infancy, gives this TV series a core that most isekai just don't bother with. Studio Bind was literally founded to make this show, and it shows: the animation is gorgeous, the world feels lived-in, and the soundtrack pulls you right into the atmosphere. If you liked the darker psychological edges of Re:Zero or the world-building in That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, this lands somewhere in between but with a more grounded, emotional tone. Fair warning though: it doesn't shy away from its ecchi elements, and Rudeus's past-life personality can be uncomfortable by design. The show knows he's not a good person yet. That's kind of the point. Eleven episodes in this first part, and it earns every one of them.

Episode 4 introduces Sylphiette and gives Rudeus a chance to make his first real friend in his new life. Their interactions are wholesome and funny, while the episode continues building Rudeus’s character and the world around him.
Episode 3 focuses on Rudeus improving his magic and building a stronger bond with Roxy. The episode has some funny moments, while also showing how quickly Rudeus is growing and learning.
Episode 5 introduces Eris Greyrat and adds a new challenge for Rudeus. Their first meeting is chaotic and funny, while Rudeus’s relationship with Eris starts off on the wrong foot. It’s a fun episode that sets up their future dynamic.
Episode 2 continues Rudeus’s new life and focuses more on his childhood and magic training. The pacing is calm, but the world-building and character development are enjoyable. Rudeus’s progress with magic makes the episode interesting and sets up his journey nicely.
A really solid start to the series. The story, world-building, and animation are great, and Rudeus feels like a character with a lot of room to grow. The episode sets up his second chance at life really well.
The story was amazing one of the Isekai that I really enjoy after Rimuru, but I'm not a fan of the ecchi or do people call it fan service. The pace and the plot is amazing if I ignore certain scenes. And the guy 'god' I just can't, idk why but yeah. Sadly in the end I dropped it when he was in the depressed state don't get me wrong, really love seeing him that numb but the way he was coping was not for me the ecchi scenes got to me. Watched it almost to the end. I still follow the story but won't be watching the anime just listening to what happened next.
bro this ep was a whole ass emotional one. not at rudy manipulating the whole situation, well he's got more emotional intelligence than his whole bloodline combined. also i'm wondering why rudy didn't even leer at ghislaine in his thoughts despite his perverted tendencies. is it character growth?? well, we love to see it.
The best Isekai hands down
Not your typical isekai anime
Pedophile slop
Genuine pedo slop
Sure mc is a weirdo. But you can’t deny the fact that this is a masterpiece. One thing this anime does special is its amazing world building and story telling which is top tier. Rudeus inner dialogue is funny weird and in serious moments enough to make you shed a tear. One of the better inner monologues I heard
Mushoku Tensei isn't just an isekai — it's the isekai that set the gold standard for the entire genre. Often regarded as the godfather of modern isekai, this series doesn't rely on cheap power fantasies or overpowered protagonists to carry the narrative. Instead, it delivers something far more compelling: a deeply flawed, painfully human protagonist who earns every ounce of his growth. Rudeus Greyrat starts as one of the most unlikable main characters you'll ever encounter, and that's precisely the point. His journey isn't about being reborn as a hero — it's about being given a second chance and slowly, painfully learning to become a better person. The character development here is unmatched. Every struggle, every failure, every small victory feels earned. You watch him grow from a broken man hiding behind arrogance into someone who genuinely fights for the people he loves. The world-building is absolutely insane. The Six-Faced World feels alive, rich with distinct cultures, political tensions, a deep magic system, and a history that unfolds naturally through the story rather than being dumped on you. Every region Rudeus visits has its own identity, its own rules, its own dangers. And the plot twists? They hit like a truck. Just when you think you've figured out where the story is heading, Mushoku Tensei pulls the rug from under you and sends everything spiraling in a direction you never expected. The pacing keeps you locked in — intense action sequences flow seamlessly into quiet, emotionally devastating moments that stick with you long after the episode ends. The animation by Studio Bind is nothing short of breathtaking. Every fight scene is fluid and explosive, every landscape is gorgeous, and the attention to detail in character expressions elevates every emotional beat. If you haven't watched Mushoku Tensei yet, you're sleeping on one of the greatest anime of this generation. This isn't just a must-watch for isekai fans — it's a must-watch for anyone who appreciates masterful storytelling, period
While the anime might have a debatable side to it, it is an extremely well made anime that is really though out. This season was an amazing intro/prologue for the next seasons.
eh god
Thank you
I love the crossing of the demon continent and sylphie and Rudy’s marriage
It is absolutely peak and thank goodness i was there when it released
Nice ep
Love itttt. Look past the initial ecchi scenes, the series is so much more than that. It's about a socially withdrawed adult, which really never got to experience his life previously before he died and got isekai-ed. In a sense, he's like a newborn given a new chance to explore a new world and get to know how to live a life, the way he didn't before. It feels real compared to most other isekais, as his personality and character traits from his previous life is carried forward into this new world he's brought into. He suffers from social qualms, and slowly overcomes his fears and challenges, learning how to be a better person. Also the animation is top tier
