It's an entertaining episode; the story is interesting, with a good pace and excellent background music. You can really empathize with Chiyo and her son.

Episode Context

As the ninth of ten episodes in Zoku Shou's first half, this lands in the season's emotional endgame, following 'Wind Raiser' and its exploration of a young man's volatile bond with wind-generating Mushi. 'Valley of the Welling Tides' shifts the lens toward human vitality and environmental cost, deepening the season's running meditation on what people unknowingly trade for coexistence with Mushi. It directly sets the stage for the finale, 'Depths of Winter,' continuing the late-season focus on harsh conditions and the fragile boundaries between human life and the supernatural.
