Episode Context

Coming off Episode 8's more comedic, character-centric detour involving Ryunosuke, Episode 9 steers the Mobile Shinsengumi back toward their primary mission of defending Kyoto from supernatural threats. This episode functions as a tonal reset and thematic bridge, reestablishing the team's core purpose before the stakes escalate with the introduction of the Tsubame Group conflict in Episode 10. With only four episodes remaining in the season, this entry marks the beginning of the stretch run.
