EPISODE REVIEWS

The action sequences were like powerpoints, so it was hard to get hype for me, and neither did it have flashy art for critical moments. The pacing and transition could have been better. But the challenge itself was really fun to watch.

Shinzo pulling out that entire arsenal from under his blanket was hilarious and terrifying at the same time and the way he switched from shy to total destruction mode really worked for his character

Watching the flashback to young Taiyo and Mutsumi at the gates really touched me and it made the tea ceremony with Futaba feel so much more meaningful than just a test

Watching those cocky spies get launched off the roof because they couldn't handle Futaba's tea was hilarious, they really underestimated how scary she is

Shinzo being terrified of the robotic hornets was the funniest thing because he just finished blowing up half the room with mineuchi rounds

I was so stressed when Shinzo pulled out those rocket launchers and Taiyo actually said let's kill each other like a total madman

Woww I didn't expect some of the tests in this episode, the combination of techniques from the characters and some questionable examinations felt really fun to watch. But the way the episode dropped the audience right into it was confusing to say the least

The funny moments blended with the serious atmosphere of the spy examination felt perfect, the pace and execution of the character interactions made Taiyo's situation and unique tests have the signature comedy-combat combo this series brings! It was really refreshing to watch.

The exam featured in this episode reintroduced some much needed intensity into this series! Outside of this episode, there's been little to no action or high stakes situations for the main characters, which made the story feel really stagnant and more like a comedy than anything.

This episode marks the start of the test, with Taiyo facing Shinzo and Futaba. Shinzo’s test features a fight scene that sadly poorly animated. In contrast, Futaba’s test offers a deeper look into her character and how she sees Taiyo. Still a good episode storywise
