QUICK TAKES

I love that we are introduced with Taiyou's power level from the start. Ai's VA totally carried this episode. Her voice made me want to reach for Ai and hug the child. And Love, LOVE of exploring Kyoichirou's character. It's good to have Yozakura back again.

Kyoichiro's short but sweet dialogue sequence felt true to his character and peeled back layers to his behavior outside of being the obsessive older brother. His perceptiveness about their mother was also heartbreaking, considering he had anticipated it.

This episode was alright, with not many major developments other than Ai's introduction and exposition, already established in the episode title. It works well as a light-weight arc starter and opener to the series.

The way this series' first episode started was a little disorienting at first.. because of it immediately opening with combat and a mission for Taiyo. After getting past the initial confusion, the episode is a light watch and holds season 1's charm.

Taiyo's blooming power is back and it looks fantastic he really showed them what's up.

Ai getting that little hat was so adorable this family is perfect.

Ai crying in the rain broke my heart Taiyo finding her was everything that hug sealed the deal.

Taiyo finding Ai in the rain and telling her he understands her feelings was so good. That's true family right there.

I felt so bad for Ai when she ran out in the rain. Her past with Mitsuki really hit hard and you just want to hug her.

I loved Mutsumi's reaction to the actor who looked like Taiyo it was just so pure and showed her affection.

Seeing Taiyo take on that giant robot was a cool way to start the episode he really showed what he's capable of.

Mutsumi and Taiyo immediately going into full parent mode for Ai was so heartwarming, they didn't even hesitate.
