READTHROUGH
The Anticipated Overtake
The episode opens with Joaquin Leon contemplating Kanata Katagiri's signature 'sliding attack' from the outside, a move he believes he can prevent. Yet, moments later, Kanata executes a daring inside maneuver, leaving Joaquin in disbelief. The audacity of the move is underscored by Kanata's almost apologetic, 'Sorry, Senpai. I'll apologize later,' as he pulls ahead. This pre-credits sequence sets the stage for the strategic depth of the race.
A Super-Sense on the Track
Commentator A expresses shock at the seamless position swap between Kanata and Beckenbauer, questioning how such coordination was possible without communication. Commentator B speculates on a 'super-sense,' a form of non-verbal understanding born from extreme concentration. They acknowledge the impossibility of traditional communication during such a precise maneuver.
The Unspoken Agreement
Commentator A worries that Kanata yielding a position was a 'fatal mistake,' but Commentator B clarifies the deeper strategy at play. He explains it as a joint operation, distinct from their direct rivalry, aimed at reaching the leading group. Both Kanata and Beckenbauer are portrayed as confident geniuses, pushing the boundaries of the race with their mutual respect and self-assurance.
Marie's Marriage Indignation
In a lighter interlude, MFG Angel Marie is asked by interviewer Uehara about her marriage prospects. She reacts with indignation, calling the question 'sexual harassment' and declaring her hatred for Uehara. This brief, comedic exchange provides a glimpse into the off-track pressures and public perceptions faced by the Angels.
Oishi's Personal Battle
Oishi finds himself battling Sawatori, a driver he remembers as unmotivated, now showing surprising drive. He observes Sawatori's renewed desire to stand out, even as he himself struggles. This internal monologue reveals Oishi's own competitive spirit mixed with frustration over his performance.
A Bid for Recognition
Despite realizing he has overused his tires and cannot catch the leaders, Oishi resolves to 'go wild in the middle group.' He decides to stand out there, driven by a simple desire for recognition. His declaration, 'I want them to say, 'Oishi-kun is amazing!'' highlights his need for affirmation.
Artists of the Track
The commentators return to discussing the unique talents of Kanata and Beckenbauer. They describe Beckenbauer as 'completely rational' and Kanata as a 'mass of thrilling surprises,' almost an artist. Kanata's ability to turn irrational choices into weapons further solidifies his artistic, unconventional approach to racing.
Ren's Mother's Unease
Ren's mother agrees with the assessment of Kanata as an artist, noting his inherited 'natural-born artist' DNA. Despite her pride, she admits, 'I actually don't want her to race.' Her concern provides a quiet, emotional counterpoint to the high-stakes thrills of the competition.
The Endless Tunnel
The race plunges into a prolonged sequence of cars navigating a jump stage and an extended tunnel section. Car after car exits the tunnel, maintaining incredible speed and tight formations. This segment emphasizes the relentless pace and the sheer endurance required to maintain position on the challenging course.
EPISODE REVIEWS

I really like Emma Greene's character, but the overreliance on her relationship with MC in her writing makes her feel a little 2 dimensional. She seems like a strong character with unique motivations, who knows what needs to be done.
