Episode Context

Coming off episode 16's emotional deep dive into Rina's feelings toward Kaito, this installment shifts gears into supernatural territory, broadening the types of challenges the mermaid trio faces roughly a third of the way through the season. The haunted house adventure adds texture to the group's bond while keeping romantic threads simmering. It directly sets up episode 18, 'A Young Visitor,' which introduces fresh narrative elements that continue expanding the show's world.
