Episode Context

As episode 1 of 52, 'The Pearl Tear' is purely foundational, it introduces Lucia Nanami, her mermaid origins, and the core quest involving her magical pearl that will drive the entire season. There's no preceding episode to build from, so this is the entry point for every character relationship and conflict thread. It feeds directly into episode 2, 'Feelings I Can't Say,' which deepens Lucia's struggle with her dual identity and begins layering in the romantic and emotional complexities the series is known for.
