this episode story hits with heavy and quiet emotion. The pacing is reflective. The animation of this episode muted visuals and worn. The music sparse and hunting. Pay attention to the silences, memories and small gestures, it's speaks through mood more than words.
For the 2nd season I was expecting a new protagonist, for the story of Gearless Joe was memorable, and wrapped up neatly with a good send off for our underdog, who went through so much. Now, we are right back where we started from, in an underground fight club with degrading staged fights, and a miserable existence. The art is still great, and animation is as superb as always. The music perfectly matches the aesthetic of the mood and tone of the story we are in, along with the setting it takes place in.
