I think the animation is solid for the year it came out in but the plastic look is slightly jarring. I've seen quite a few donghua's and the introduction of our main character feels a bit rushed. I feel like they could've done two episodes so we understand why he respects his father better and more of his motivations cause it feels like he is too forgiving of his father as a child especially when his mother faces most of the backlash.

Wait why was this lowkey so fun😭 It’s my first time seeing a chinese animation and it genuinely looks so amazing! I’m really impressed with the quality of the animation (like you can see the skin’s pore and texture when they zoom in!). Although some motions look a bit awkward, for a 2019 animation, this was really impressive HAHA. Really looking forward to continuing the whole series!

On a technical level, the 3DCG animation quality delivered by Shanghai Motion Magic is impressive. Close-quarters combat choreography, detailed Yuan Power energy effects, and the cultivation-world environment designs are executed smoothly and dynamically.
