Esta película finaliza la trilogía de Mardock Scramble de forma espectacular. Fue una montaña rusa de emociones con el enfrentamiento en blackjack, la charla con el último dealer y la batalla final.

This movie is a brilliant cyberpunk finale. The breathtaking visual production from GoHands features slick neon lines, complex mechanical transformations, and highly stylised digital geometry. It frames a masterful psychological battle on the casino floor. It handles dense themes of trauma and closure with immense respect, delivering a truly grand, explosive conclusion.

honestly The Third Exhaust is a weird note to end this trilogy on, and i mean that in both good and not-so-good ways

so Rune Balot finally walks into the Eggnog Blue Casino — a high-stakes, glamorous casino stacked heavily in the house's favor — to do the thing she's been building toward this whole series: win the golden chips that hold Shell's memories so she can finally prove what he really is. and that's basically the entire back half of the movie. blackjack. extended blackjack scenes. like a LOT of blackjack Fandom

i get what they were going for narratively — using the card game as this slow psychological showdown where she's literally pulling pieces of his trauma out of his head one chip at a time — but it goes on so long it kind of saps the tension instead of building it. by the time you get to the actual reveal of why Shell is the way he is, you're more relieved the gambling sequence is over than emotionally invested in the reveal itself

and the reveal IS dark. like genuinely disturbing dark — the kind of backstory explanation that's clearly meant to horrify you, and it does, but it also felt a little too "tragic villain origin by the numbers" for how much weight the movie put on getting there. it explains him without really making him more compelling

what does work is Rune. she's been the emotional backbone of this whole trilogy and this movie doesn't let that slip — she's still sharp, resilient, refusing to fold even when the odds (literally, in this case) are against her. and the climax once it finally kicks into gear delivers the kind of brutal, kinetic action this series has always done well

it's not a bad ending, it just feels like it's carrying more pacing problems than the first two films, like the story wanted one more big emotional gut-punch and decided a casino was the way to deliver it. if you've stuck with Balot and Oeufcoque this far you'll still want to see how it ends, just go in knowing the middle stretch tests your patience
