the nostalgic feeling this episode brings is so beautiful. it feels exactly like walking down a street you have been yearning to go back to for years. it just has so much quiet emotion in it.

this series makes no concessions for those desiring fast-paced narratives, firmly rooting itself in introspective, melancholic storytelling. the atmospheric directing elevates the emotional weight of the monologues beautifully.

i honestly dont understand the game at all but this is still so cool to watch! some people might think the slow pacing is boring, but the art and the vibes are absolute peak to me

A slower and somber episode with the Kawamotos which masterfully shows the pain of loss through music, art direction and animation. It knows when to use comedy and when to allow the scenes to speak for themselves without overdoing it, even knowing when to not use sound.

A heated rivalry born since childhood on one of the hottest summer days, Kiriyama and Nikaidou are once again sited against each other for a shogi match, this time however, for the first time since both became a professional shogi player.

There are too many relatable moments in this episode. The strongest people indeed are not just the ones who don't give up, but also the ones who know how to cry.

Some moments are warm especially when the sisters are there. The main character still feels far away which makes it a little sad.

The story in this episode made me sad because the plot really supports the story of each character, which is good. The sad scenes are very relatable to the lives of many people.

What a beautiful rivalry between them. Nikaidou's determination and Rei's recognition really shine. The style and animation never cease to impress me—the direction, the amazing details, and the expressions are all top-notch. Overall, amazing—great rivalry with a touch of drama.
