Episode Context

Episode 40 arrives on the heels of heavy momentum. Ginta's unsettling encounter with Phantom in Episode 38 and the tense pre-battle setup of Episode 39 gave the series some of its darkest shading yet. This episode pivots the focus to Snow, formally opening the 5th Battle of the War Games tournament and establishing her as a combatant in her own right. It lays emotional groundwork that will resonate through the battles ahead as the team faces increasingly dangerous opponents.
