Peak seasonal drama explodes on the field. The visual direction utilizes incredibly sharp, stylized focus lines as Goro stares directly down the line at the batter's box. The background audio of roaring, stadium-wide crowds fades into a dead silence, beautifully focusing the viewer entirely on a historic, high-stakes confrontation.
That saved Shigeno from crashing his face, too. That was a rather intense application and the tone was definitely doubtful. Murdoch addition to the team also made3e the pacing slower than usual. The backstory of him was realistically miserable as he was struggling.
While I still don't like Murdoch's overall character, this episode made me view him in a better light. At least, he isn't as bad as I initially thought he was. That said, I like Watts' character the most. He's perhaps the most supportive character in this episode, even if his support is more on the passive side. On a funny note, I couldn't stop laughing at the wordplay in the subtitles. I definitely didn't expect that, LOL!
