EPISODE REVIEWS

The dramatic drive of this episode was conveyed. The pacing got slowed down with the talk-no-jutsu-like moments and self-reflection. It was kind of cliché in every season that every time Goro was down, others would lift him up. That eyecatcher cliffhanger was so good and perfectly done! The BGM on this ep was also great. And that smirk from both Goro and Gibson right at the end was highly enticing.

This episode provides a look into the deeply personal motivations that drive a broken pitcher. The pacing perfectly handles the psychological battle of sheer willpower. The tone is emotional and heavy, and made me realize this is not just a game anymore.

This may be minor compared to everything else in this episode, but I really love the direction here. The transition from Toshi’s monumental hit to the eyecatch was simply fantastic. Getting back to it, I could really feel the craziness of this episode. Gibson really knows how to make everyone tense. This old man is just aura farming at this point.
