This episode was compelling with a big responsibility to fill in. The overwhelming pressure was conveyed and felt in this ep, with the Gibsons' on the line. It'd been a long time since Goro was depressed and seeing him was rather somber. The entire tone of this ep was overwhelming, perfectly executed with the BGM. Kiyaa~ Goro was satisfied with Shimizu's golden words of encouragement.
This episode is deeply psychological and perfectly handles family trauma and personal stakes. The tone shifted to something intense with the unexpected appearance of Gibson. The pacing was flawless, and provided good character development for Toshiya.
Everything is all thanks to Shimizu! I really love how supportive she is as a character. She may not always be around, but whenever a critical moment comes, she always delivers. It may not be emphasized that much, but she's one of the reasons Goro has made it this far.
