EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off Episode 27's more dramatic storyline involving the disappearance of Soichiro, Episode 28 downshifts into a character-focused breather that fleshes out the supporting cast, specifically the Ichinose household. Sitting at roughly the quarter mark of the 96-episode run, this stretch of episodes builds out the lived-in texture of Maison Ikkoku's ensemble, and this entry directly sets the stage for the fall festival events in Episode 29.
