Knowing the reason why the knights want to complete the Book of Darkness puts us, the viewers, in an interesting situation as we are made to care about Hayate and at the same time, we don’t want to see our main characters losing or fighting against people that they couldn’t be friends with. And this contradiction is expressed really well throughout the episode as, just like in the previous season, the show makes a point in the importance of talking and wanting to understand each other. Though, it does leaves a question, if the Knights have such a noble reason, who is in fact the villain of the season?

I loved watching Fate Testarossa use her upgraded Bardiche to unleash the powerful Haken Saber attack during an intense aerial battle against Signum. It was thrilling.

Episode Context

Sitting right at the season's midpoint, episode 7 serves as a deliberate exhale after earlier episodes revealed the Wolkenritter's motivations and ramped up the stakes. It prioritizes Fate's personal development and the protagonists' attempts to hold onto normalcy, functioning as essential connective tissue between the first half's world-building and the back half's inevitable escalation. The groundwork laid here, emotionally and narratively, feeds directly into the intensifying confrontations that will define the remaining six episodes.
