this episode really tested Riko 😰 the atmosphere in the Inverted Forest is haunting. she's resourceful when it counts. the animation of the environment is gorgeous. watching her push through alone was intense. the creatures in this layer are creepy af.

This feels like an especially cruel episode that plays well within the curse of the Abyss while giving character depth. I do wish Reg used better judgment when he uses his power, but it's still fairly early on - perhaps he'll learn to lean more on other skills to protect Riko without going out himself.
