Love of Kill

Synopsis
Novice bounty hunter Chateau Dankworth never expected to encounter someone capable of overpowering her in combat. Even less so that the mysterious man would take an immediate interest in her—to the point of aiding her missions. However, Chateau makes it clear that she has no plans of entertaining any personal involvement with him. Chateau's company is soon tasked with eliminating Song Ryang-ha—an expert assassin and a former member of a powerful Asian organization. Coincidentally, Ryang-ha is the man that has been pursuing her. Despite his background, Chateau reluctantly agrees to meet with Ryang-ha as part of a deal: in exchange for going out with him, he will provide her with the locations of current targets, dead or alive. But when the past begins to haunt both killers, their arrangement may need to come to an end, as their entanglement puts their lives at grave risk.

Finally, all our questions are answered, and we understand the true bond that lies at the hearts of the protagonists. Whole anime's been building up to this, and man, did it deliver.
Emotionally the finale earns its moment, Chateau finally coming to terms with her own denial is satisfying character work. But the ending just... stops. No real closure on the overarching plot, just a cliffhanger. Watch it I guess for the character payoff, not resolution.
The flashback arc peaks here and it's legitimately the strongest material in the whole series. Full credit to the writing for finally making the central mystery hit as hard as it should've been hitting since the 1st episode.
Quieter episode that leans on the two of them just talking, and it mostly works because the backstory's finally worth the screentime. There's a tense moment between them that swings hard into vulnerability, but the emotional core lands.
Okay THIS is the episode that justifies sitting through the slog. A major reveal about the cast recontextualizes everything and it's genuinely well done. Chateau breaking down a gate with a truck is the first time she's felt proactive.
Chateau's mostly sidelined here while the assassins do their thing, which says a lot about how passive she's written. The action with Jim and the ambush is fine, but this episode is mostly moving pieces into place for what's coming.
This is the episode that gets brought up in every negative review and yeah, it's rough. Song's method of stopping Chateau from making a rash decision is not the romantic beat the show thinks it is. The flashback tease at the end is intriguing at least.
Cruise arc starts and the pacing problems people warn about are showing up. A forced dress-shopping detour feels like filler dressed up as fanservice. The ending twist is the only reason not to skip this one.
Decent closer to this arc, with some real emotional weight once the villain's backstory comes out. Song's parting offer to Chateau is the most "romance" this show has managed so far. Still slow in the middle but worth it for the payoff.
Actual momentum here. The ambush is tense and we finally get real lore on how Chateau ended up adopted. The villain refusing to stay down after taking serious damage is a little much, but the mystery's got teeth now. Solid watch.
This one's just filler with extra steps. Song stealing her laundry for a cheap gag hahaha, sure, but then it swings into somber backstory territory with zero transition. Tonal whiplash, skippable if you're short on time.
Finally some actual stakes with the ambush in the woods. Song tracking her down was a genuinely clever beat. Still mid overall, but this is the first episode that felt like more than setup.
Premise is a red flag simulator honestly. A guy who beat you in a fight stalking you for a month straight isn't romantic, it's concerning lol. Chateau's stoic deadpan is fun though, and the ending tease is the only reason to keep going.
First half presents an interesting situation in which Song and Chateau are forced to work together, and the second half drops the most important reveal of the whole story, with a killer soundtrack to boot. You do not want to miss this.
