Plot nya seruu banget buat diikutin. Honoka lucu banget dah, pelor bangett ni orang asli kwkwkwkkw. Comedy nya dapet dan interaksi para member juga masih senatural dulu. Udah lama banget gak dapet vibes anime idol kayak Love Live gini. Gurlll friendship!!
First off... Nico-chan, I love you with all my heart, but oh my god I really can't watch the series without going "Nico, nooo TT_TT" as I die of secondhand embarrassment.Anyway, the first half is pretty much for the funsies. Classic Nico being Nico, Honoka being an airhead, Maki being such an innocent tsundere, NozoEli being the parents in this group dynamic. It's fun to watch, pretty chill, and lets us see more of the characters just interacting here and there.The latter half was where things start to kick off. We got to see the 'breakdown' of the sub-units here, which was probably the franchise's subtle way of showing it even to casual watchers to have the current sub-unit now make sense. But that aside, I really love how this episode showed two of the many great things I could name in this ep: Nico and Nozomi's wisdom. It's pretty much expected if it's Nozomi, although it still surprises me with how much she knows about a lot of things. If you're curious as to why, you will understand in future episodes the subtle 'why'. Check the SIDs as well if you want supplementary info. As for Nico, it showed us her reliable side. Nico really says some of the most obvious yet profound things when it matters. That's one of the things I really loved about her. She can be overly nitpicky, silly, and performative at times, which makes her seem unreliable, but you also come to know that when it matters the most, Nico would be there— at the right moment, with the right words, and the right expression.As a bonus, it was subtle, but what Hanayo said about the flowers she had picked was also helpful for Kotori. And thus, the song was born: from Nozomi's guiding words for Umi, from Nico's wisdom shared with Maki, and from Hanayo's insight given to Kotori.It's one of the touching 'journeys' for one of their most iconic songs, and it's important to really watch because it shows us what exactly pushed and inspired for that song to be written, and how exactly they reflect to the characters and to the group itself.
After rewatching this episode, I felt so dumb for not catching all the details when I first watched it two years ago. There are so many easter eggs hidden throughout, from the "Unit Divison" to "Doors" and more.*The sub-units were never related to the anime so no spoiler, this is purely for the franchise.I swear, this isn't just another μ's episode, it's the entire journey leading up to the birth of one of μ's greatest songs.You can really feel their struggles here. The pressure on our Bird, Ocean, and Tomato trio feels incredibly relatable. Sure, the first watch had that special excitement of experiencing everything for the first time, but rewatching it lets you appreciate all the little details you missed before. As always, μ's never fails to amaze me.
