This episode is the peak of Nijigasaki fan service. We are actually emulating the ACTUAL Nijigasaki First live, same name, songs from the same cd. Only some additions, being these Lanzhu, Mia, and Shioriko's songs (due to them not being introduced back when the first live actually happened) which are appreciated (because their second songs are awesome).
When you have to listen to Kanata's life changing lines. Very relaxed episode that it was so relaxed that I don't have much to talk about it. It is nice to have both Ayumu and Yuu having their own personal goals this time. Going overseas just to do school idol stuff sounds great ngl. I really loved how Kanata took the role of pretty much a therapist for a lot of people during the episode.
Really relaxed episode after everything we've went through. We actually remember that we are at school and that tests are a thing. Oh right the looming graduation approaches (it won't happen yet) The idea of emulating a live which happened irl is actually a good idea for a season ending. I also loved the Mirai Harmony instrumental that played near the end.
PEAK EPISODE. PEAK! WATCH THIS IF YOU ARE A LOVE LIVE FAN! The fanservice scenes for this episode is on another level. A real treat for the Nijigasaki fans! This is the closest love live will be to an actual live concert episode! Everyone was SO dazzling! 10/10 please give this a watch! NIJIGASAKI SAIKOU!
The Ayumu x Yu is such a strong pairing in this anime! I am so glad that they are such good "friends". The direction for this episode may be unclear now, but it will definitely help set up events in the future. School idols are such a unique concept that is very niche so I am glad that they are tackling that topic. It is very endearing to see that more people are noticing them, as a result of their successful school idol festival. The final episode is up next! Nijigasaki is such a fun group to watch! No songs for this episode, but I have high expectations for the finale!
Is that a pokémon go reference. I love my chill episodes in which nothing happens but we get some funny character moments. It's nice to see a vacation-esque episode without involving the beach or swimsuits, since the season takes place in the period of the year in which they wear their winter uniforms, they went for just doing stuff in the city instead. Also awesome to see Love U my friends as an insert song, really good song.
I'm not a big fan of Mia so there isn't a lot I can say about the episode. Her character development was good and stars we chase is still a good song, it took them like 3 attempts to give Mia a good song but it worked. A lot of the episode felt like Lanzhu making a problem and dragging everyone else into it.
Me when no tokimeki. Lanzhu aura moments together with a bit of help from Hanpen created an insane scene. Whoever wrote about Yuu's writer's block has definitely been through it because it feels so real. The end of the episode was truly something akin to a love letter to the fans. When you think of nijigasaki, the first group song that comes to mind is tokimeki runners, so it was already time to play it during the anime. Fun fact, they also did the thing in an actual live, and got Yuu's seiyuu to play the same intro in an actual piano.
Save us Shioriko. I do have some conflicted feelings about Shio in the anime, since in the game she had like a loooot more time to build her character up and actually become a school idol, but it's still a good watch that actually helps you see that indeed game Shio and anime Shio are two sides of the same coin. EMOTION continues to be one of my favorite niji anime mvs, it is visually awesome and the references to the game are on point, besides using the idolized outfits, they also used her casual outfits.
The culmination of Nijigasaki's school idol club unity. This episode further cements them as an official organization, both as a school club, and as an idol group. I can definitely relate to their worries. In the first love live series, this is one of the troubles the OG group had, and this series continues that plot point. A very emotional episode that perfectly sets up the next few episodes of season 2. Recommended to watch!
An episode focused on the school idol club's outing! An episode full of cutesy and funny moments that shows each members unique quirks! If I'm gonna be honest, this is an episode that you can skip, however, if you want the full Nijigasaki experience, this is the episode that shows their bonds together. Also, PLENTY of KasuKasu in this episode! I give it my recommendation!
AZUNA gets their 2 episodes (unlike another unit) and we get to see more of Setsuna being a bit of a dork. In contrast to SIFAS, here the reveal is less impactful in the grand scheme of things. In the game, Shioriko pretty much called her out in front of the whole school so it's quite the difference. We get a cool callback to the fist bump that Setsuna offered to Ayumu during the previous season, but this time the roles were reversed, with Setsuna needing motivation this time. Infinity Our Wings is a song that really manages to show their differences in usual rhythms (during each solo segment. Due to the small dialogue segments, you can definitely tell that Shizuku is there.
This is what I mean by DiverDive getting the short end of the stick, they didn't get 2 episodes smh. Shizuku didn't get that much to do after her episode in season 1, so it's nice to have another episode that spends most of its time focusing on her. This is my top 2 nijigasaki unit because I love their character interactions and the anime made it even better.
It feels that staff gave DiverDiva the sorter end of the stick again. Don't get me wrong, it's a good episode, Misato's story is good and so Karin and Ai's display of friendly rivalry. But it feels a bit unfair that they got only 1 episode instead of the 2 that QU4RTZ got. Other than that complaint, it was a good episode. Eternal Light is probably one of my favorite DiverDiva songs and the SIFAS references were on point. Instead of throwing cards at the right moments, they used outfits that despite being from different in-game sets, they still match perfectly.
Oh right QU4RTZ episode. I really liked the relaxed vibe that the episode had, which matches completely with the image of them as an unit. Following the trend of season 1, the mv has a lot of references to SIFAS cards, which is a good addition for fan service and because they are cards with good designs. The girls trying to sync up also brought some good and simple comedy to the episode, that also felt natural because that type of situation might happen to someone.
Oh hi Aimi. Colorful Dreams Colorful Smiles if probably my favorite Love Live opening up to now (it will get mogged when the hasunosora anime drops). The visuals, rhythm, and costumes are all incredible. Continuing to show some parts of Odaiba is definitely a good idea, make use of what you have you know. I really like how the anime can reuse previous characters from SIF to make new plots and make it work properly. Very much appreciated Mia lore dump since she spoke like twice the previous episode. I liked how everything and everyone talked about Lanzhu being alone and wanting to continue like that.
For either bad or good they changed A LOT of Lanzhu's character from how she was in the mobile game. For those unaware, instead of her being by herself doing her own thing (as she proclaimed during the episode), the practically stole the club. Shioriko's introduction also differs but this time is for bad, like, really bad, she just shows up here. Other than that, despite all the years that have passed Euphoria is still a wonderful song with an even better animation. The same applies to the ending, which continues with that soft art style that the season 1 ending also had.
This episode builds upon Mia's character that was seen in earlier episodes. This time, she takes center stage! Her pressure from her family is a common theme for people with famous families and I can understand her character more now that I know her background now. Her character arc culminates in this episode with her song that really blew me away! You must definitely give it a try! A must watch episode!
The school idol festival is here! It's an episode with a focus on Yu Takasaki. But what drives this episode home, is the MV song in the end of the episode. For the players of the game, that was definitely an unforgettable song with a superb animation that does it justice. Characterization for Yu is very well done! This episode has a special place in my heart, both as a player of SIFAS, and a fan of Nijigasaki. School idols are the best!
I used to think that anime version of Shioriko is a very bland character, but I am glad to be proven wrong. However, I will still say that the game version of Shioriko is the superior version. The song encapsulates the character of Shioriko. I am glad to see that she broke out of her own shell this episode. The new cast for this season is really something else! Recommended to watch!
