Episode Context

Coming off 'Against All Flags,' where competing loyalties and allegiances were pushed to their limits, this episode pulls inward to examine the Empire's strategic foundations before the storm arrives. At episode 66 of 110, the series is in its latter-half buildup, and this installment serves as a crucial political bridge. It directly sets the stage for 'Twilight of the Gods (Ragnarok) Again,' where the political maneuvering examined here gives way to large-scale military confrontation.
