Law of Devil 2nd Season
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When an imperial coup reshapes the capital, Duwei finds himself saddled with a duke title and the worst possible territory to go with it — a barren, underdeveloped province in the northwest called Desa. Most people would see that as a punishment. Duwei sees it as a project. This ONA picks up after a coup shakes the imperial capital, and instead of playing court politics, Duwei heads out to the frontier to build something from nothing. He's got strategic thinking, magical talent, and the kind of calm confidence that makes you want to watch him outmaneuver everyone around him. Early on, the show is about him figuring out how to establish authority in a place where nobody takes him seriously, recruiting for a magical army, and dealing with local power struggles that could unravel everything before it starts. The world-building here is genuinely dense — multiple factions, creatures, political layers — and it rewards paying attention. If you liked Overlord's vibe of a powerful protagonist methodically building influence, or the territory-management angle from Log Horizon, this scratches a similar itch. There's also a bit of The Rising of the Shield Hero energy in the way Duwei gets dealt a bad hand and turns it into leverage. The action is there, but the real draw is watching someone think three steps ahead in a fantasy world that's actively trying to crush him. CG Year handles the animation, adapted from a web novel, and if you're into kingdom-building fantasy, it's worth your time.
