The changes really amped up Phos. But it really is saddening since the loss reflects in Phos eyes though it somehow shows that he matured from the previous episodes.

Phos got a surprising upgrade, but at a high price. Satisfying to see her finally respected by the gems, yet it only makes the plot fishier. Lighter tone with darker undertones. Finale is getting closer and I'm hyped for the twists and revelations to come!!!

The start of the episode alone feels significant - gone is the bubbly Phos whom we were so used to. This might be a sign of Phos growing up, but it's such a rude awakening to experience. The tension holds as Spring arrives and the rest witness this change in Phos, and them being in just the same viewpoint as us viewers is really effective in driving this point.
