Very engaging first episode. Loved the colours and the CGI was good. If you don't like the anime after this episode you can drop it. If you dont like the anime for some reason because of Phos you should keep watching, she does a lot of introspection throughout the anime.

For me, this anime has a unique lore. The blend of the 3D CGI animation looks good to the world and characters and it's scientific nature makes you want to watch it and learn the characters abilities. Episode 1 is engaging which makes you want for the main character to develop.

The animation, especially the use of 3D models, is surprisingly impressive and creates a stunning visual spectacle. This episode explores the purpose and existence of the gem people, with a focus on Phos, a seemingly fragile gem with no clear abilities, and her journey to uncover the truth of world. While I’m still trying to fully grasp the lore, the series stands out with its unique themes and beautiful presentation. Definitely excited for the next episode.

3DCG style is lowkey a vibe for me, it's always interesting to see studio utilizing it because it's either top notch or it doesn't lend itself to the source's original artstyle. Luckily, Houseki no Kuni lands squarely on the former. Phos is a delicate, fragile Gem who desires to be useful, and is very relatable in that sense. I'm really curious how their interactions pan out as they fill that Encyclopedia tasks of theirs.

A gem-person who can't figure out where they belong stumbles into their first real purpose and it's more affecting than it has any right to be. The CG is genuinely gorgeous. Weird, beautiful, and immediately unlike anything else. Just watch it.

Yeah this looks INSANE—CG done right for once 😤 Phos starts off useless but kinda charming. World feels empty but beautiful. Not perfect pacing, but visuals carry HARD. 💎
