EPISODE REVIEWS

Episode 2 continues the story as we get introduced to more characters, like Muginami and some side characters.

Like the first episode, the beginning is quite slow paced. It picks up in the middle especially with that awesome robot fight. Madoka getting involved and her connection to the vox seems like there is something more.

This episode feels like a small step up from the previous episode. Madoka is still super energetic and always getting involved in things without thinking too much, but now the “Kamogawa spirit” theme actually starts to feel more meaningful instead of just being a phrase. There’s more focus on the town and how everyone kind of supports each other, which makes Madoka feel like she fits into Kamogawa more naturally. It’s still mostly calm and slice-of-life, but you can feel that something bigger is building underneath everything.Lan is still there in the background, and even though she doesn’t fully interact much yet, she definitely feels like she doesn’t belong in the normal world setup, which keeps the sci-fi mystery going.Overall, this episode doesn’t have big action moments, but it strengthens the setting and makes the world feel more connected. It’s more about atmosphere and slowly building direction.
