A bit of a weird episode, at least premise-wise. The episode has a bit more of a restrained direction, presenting a moral conflict of opposing viewpoints without presenting an easy answer, which I don't think is the point. It moreso makes you think rather than answering it for you.

A weird, fun little detour. Watching a literal walking city ask permission to let Kino in is such a fun visual, and her sniping skills during this one are on full display. Lighter episode overall, good breather before things get heavier.

Another great episode. This anime is full of mystery. There's still so much information missing, and I'm quite fascinated by how each country Kino visits has its own unique style. This is by far the safest country Kino has visited 🤣. The pacing is slow again, but it works really well. It kind of reminds me of Frieren's pacing.

This time the MC heads to a place that's just really unusual and it actually blows them away. Even the way to get in is something else, and the technology there is way more advanced than anything before.

I loved seeing Kino handle the pressure with such calm skills.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned early at episode 3 of 12, 'Bothersome Country' follows the morally charged 'Colosseum' two-parter and represents the series settling into its episodic rhythm—each stop on Kino's journey presenting a self-contained ethical dilemma through a unique society. This installment pivots from interpersonal violence to systemic consequences, broadening the thematic scope before leading into 'Ship Country,' which continues exploring how civilizations organize themselves in extreme circumstances.
