Kino's Journey -the Beautiful World- the Animated Series Episode 12: Fields of Sheep / Journey's End

This episode brings several familiar ideas together as Kino arrives in yet another distinctive country, where a simple encounter gradually turned into a thoughtful reflection. It has a measured pacing with an understated story. Perhaps a bit too understated. Some might find the season finale a bit unsatisfying as a result.

Definitely the weakest way to close out the season, feels like a random tonal 180 from everything before it. It's mostly just an extended chase scene with little of the philosophical weight the show built up. Skip unless you want closure for the sake of it.

It's a great ending. The way they ended it almost felt like they were communicating directly with us after everything that happened throughout their journey. Kino and Hermes are truly the best pair. Hermes was always there whenever Kino was in a pinch, just like what happened in this episode. Anyway, it's a great story overall. It's a chill episode, but at the same time, the twists are so unique that they always leave you with random emotions, lol 🤣.
