Working quietly at an entertainment magazine in a peaceful town, Kokoro Yamihara is a vampire who has built a life where she never hurts anyone. Toramatsu Asada is a local police officer with a complicated past he hasn't quite dealt with. They meet badly, warm up slowly, and start building something real together — both quietly dreaming about a future that might actually work out. The catch is that neither of them is being fully honest about who they are or what they're carrying. That tension alone makes their dynamic worth watching. Then bodies start turning up drained of blood, and suddenly Kokoro's secret and Toramatsu's job are on a collision course neither of them planned for. The show uses the murder mystery to force questions the romance was already circling: how much do you hide from someone you love, and what happens when you can't anymore. If you liked the slow-burn relationship tension of Vampire Knight but want something grounded in a more everyday setting, or enjoyed how Shiki made vampires feel genuinely unsettling rather than glamorous, this one scratches a similar itch. Fans of Blood+ who appreciate supernatural stories with emotional stakes rather than pure action will probably find a lot to like here too. It's a quieter kind of supernatural romance — more about secrets and trust than grand dramatic confrontations, at least early on.
