I'm in Love with the Villainess
Oshimeter
Synopsis
The isekai genre has a well-worn formula: someone reincarnates into a fantasy world and chases the obvious love interests. Rei Oohashi gets reborn into her favorite otome game as the protagonist Rae Taylor and immediately ignores every prince in the room to simp for the villainess instead. Claire François is the elegant, haughty noblewoman you're supposed to hate, and Rae is absolutely head over heels for her, openly, shamelessly, and to Claire's endless frustration. This 12-episode TV series from Platinum Vision is basically what happens when you throw a self-aware fangirl into the story she knows by heart and let her rewrite the script through sheer romantic persistence. The comedy lands because Rae knows every plot beat coming and uses that knowledge not to gain power or avoid doom, but to get closer to Claire. And Claire's reactions, flustered, annoyed, slowly cracking, carry the whole dynamic. It's a yuri romance wrapped in a villainess isekai, set at a fantasy academy, and it leans into the comedic side without losing the genuine warmth between its leads. If you liked the villainess genre twist in An Observation Log of My Fiancée Who Calls Herself a Villainess, or enjoyed the chaotic romantic energy of Love Tyrant, this hits a similar sweet spot. It's lighthearted, colorful, and knows exactly what kind of story it wants to tell.

Good as background noise but super sweet if you're into romance
It was sad for us light novel fans not to see the future story arcs get further animation, but this is more than enough for us, as we had been waiting a long time for the anime adaption. The final episode, in my opinion, was a great way to end, as it shows much more than usual character development in the main characters relationships.
The story in this episode always makes my heart drop, even though I knew what was coming. This episode mostly had angst parts, which is to my liking, as I enjoy the angst genre.
One of my favorite storylines in the series in this episode, as it is where the main characters begin to show character development.
This is the continuation of the previous episode, and is also a worthwhile episode, in my opinion, as it supports some of the story developments that occur later.
This episode bring out some serious topics within the kingdom, which will be elaborated on later in the story. Personally, I think this episode is worth watching, as it is one of the key points in the first half of the story.
I love how the story took a different direction after Rae made some changes when she expected something else to happen. This episode showed a lot of development in the relationships between the main characters.
This episode once again contains more cute interactions between Rae and Claire, and there are also some scenes that foreshadow future events in the story.
In my opinion, this episode is worth watching because the exam battle showcases the abilities of some of the main characters, which will be explored further in future stories.
The animation in this episode replicates something that the light novel could not do, and I am really happy about that. The development of the main characters relationship also increases in this episode.
This episode further shows Rae's feelings towards Claire. There are also some statements made in this episode that reveal more about Rae.
This episode contains more cute moments between Rae and Claire. It also introduces some new characters who will become important to plot later in the series.
