READTHROUGH
The Ebisumori Legacy
The episode opens with a chilling photographic record of the Ebisumori family, showing young Nana and Mirai, their faces marred by dark scribbles. We learn that Mirai's mother knew she was destined to birth a 'cursed object,' a tragic premonition hanging over generations. The images of happiness are quickly overshadowed by the heavy weight of an inherited fate, establishing the bleak, predetermined path these women walk.
Osamu's Grim Strategy
Osamu sits with Nana and Mob, discussing the Ebisumori curse with a chilling pragmatism. He explains that Mirai's mother attempted to destroy the clan with the 'cursed object.' His phone rings with urgent news: Mirai has vanished from the hospital, bleeding profusely. Despite Nana's distress, Osamu remains disturbingly calm, his resolve hardening as he decides to involve Kaya.
The Nature of the Curse
As Osamu drives off with Kaya and Nana, he explains the Ebisumori curse: two entities, Miko and Hiruko, born from the mother. He states that a Hiruko must be birthed 'as a human' before it steals the mother's life. He implies that Mirai might have tried to avoid artificial birth, like Kaya's mother did in the past. This history reveals the lengths Ebisumori mothers go to escape their gruesome fate.
Crash and Revelation
The blue car carrying Osamu, Kaya, and Nana is violently rammed by a black car, sending it spinning. Mob emerges from the attacking vehicle, calling out to Kaya with feigned concern. Nana cradles the unconscious Kaya, distraught. Osamu, injured, stares in shock as the reality of the situation begins to unfold around them.
Mirai's Desperate Bargain
Kaya's mother, Mirai, emerges, seemingly pulled from the ground by dark, purple hands, her dress stained crimson. She declares her intent to 'disappear' the Ebisumori clan, and holds Kaya in a desperate embrace. Mirai states that the curse will pursue the bloodline to its last descendant, including Kaya. Nana screams in protest, heartbroken, as Mirai prepares to sacrifice herself and her daughter to break the chain.
The Unfolding Past
Flashbacks reveal Mirai and Kaya's father naming their daughter, full of hope for a normal life. We see Mirai survive a difficult birth, but feel like a failure for not breaking the curse. She attempts to live a 'normal' life with her husband and Kaya, trying to forget the Ebisumori legacy. This fragile peace shatters when a young Kaya points to something unseen, asking her mother, 'Can't you see it?'
Parental Curses
Kaya's innocent question about seeing the unseen awakens Mirai to the terrifying reality: the curse has taken root in her daughter. A collage of past images flashes, cementing Mirai's horror. Her despair turns to fury as she screams, 'Don't screw with me!' Realizing that a 'parent's words are the strongest curse,' she grapples with the devastating impact of her own inherited fate on Kaya's future.
Osamu's Gambit and Mirai's Farewell
As Mirai's rage peaks, Osamu intervenes, catching Kaya as she falls from her mother's grasp. He dismisses Mirai's dramatic sacrifice as oblivious. Later, Osamu finds Mirai in a hospital bed, her hands discolored from the curse. He repays an old 'favor' by speaking with her, and she asks him to deliver a message to her daughters. She then collapses, dying, a red origami crane with '幸福に' ('to happiness') clutched in her hand, which Osamu picks up.
The Mother's True Will
Standing outside the Ebisumori house, Osamu listens to Mirai's echoing voice. This is her last will and testament, not of a curse, but of a profound desire for happiness for her daughters. Flashbacks illustrate Mirai's own lifelong struggle, her tears, and her longing for a normal, joyful life she was never granted. Her voice is heavy with regret but firm in its love.
Nana's Unwavering Resolve
Nana, distraught and injured, confronts Mirai, railing against the injustice of the curse and crying out that all her struggles have been her own. Later, she stands determined, holding Kaya's drawing of a family. Nana asserts that Kaya isn't afraid of monsters, but of breaking a promise to her mother. She declares her unwavering resolve to witness and protect Kaya's future.
The Monster and the Teacher
Mirai transforms into a horrifying, screaming monster, her face contorted, mouth wide with teeth. She declares Kaya is terrified because 'Mommy is angry and wants to die.' Yet, amidst this horror, Nana bravely confronts the monstrous figure. She cries out that it is not the Ebisumori Oharasama, but Kaya's mother, and introduces herself as Kaya's head teacher, prepared to discuss her student's future.
A Future for Kaya
The monstrous form of Mirai collapses and disappears, leaving Nana in tears. The scene shifts to the hospital, where the 'Surgery in Progress' sign flashes ominously. Osamu holds a crying Kaya, who is worried about her mother. Later, Nana reflects, holding a child's drawing depicting Kaya with a black figure on her head. She observes that Kaya has grown immensely and was able to touch her mother's heart, connecting with her in a way no one else could. Nana finds happiness in Kaya's simple joy, looking towards a hopeful future.
EPISODE REVIEWS

Buen final con momentos emocionantes, tensión y todo terminó bastante bien y con un final feliz para todos

Very nice closure on everything where as suspected there is more to the character of Mutsu. The part right after Namu's assistance is a bit forced but what can you do as we need to progress with the story. We also see the depth of Kaya's kindness shows no end. Worth watching.
