This episode also raises an interesting question: does protecting history mean you can never change a single person's fate? We see many innocent people lose their lives, and they're all part of history. Even if the major historical events remain the same, is that really what it means to protect history? These are the kinds of thought provoking questions this anime leaves you with.

This episode focused on Kanesada making an impossible choice as a commander. The dark tone paired with the calculated pacing makes it uneasy. The flawless lighting animation provides some peak character development right before the end.
