Overall, a decent episode

Episode Context

The premiere, "Expulsion," establishes Lent's support role among the Sword of Skybreakers and closes on a betrayal that begins to change his Gift. This installment, "Contract," converts that change into a concrete means of confronting Guy and the others, launching the series' magic-repayment storyline. What follows hangs on repayment, its terms, and how new power rearranges the standing between former allies.
