EPISODE REVIEWS

Episode Context

As the season premiere, this episode has no previous installment behind it, so it carries the full burden of establishing the magic-lending rules and the party structure around Lent. It introduces his exclusion from the longtime group he supported and transitions into the question of how that loss alters his Gift. Everything that follows builds on that parting, which is the foundation of the retaliation-focused arc ahead.
