Episode Context

Sitting just past the quarter mark of a 13-episode season, this episode pivots from the initial setup of Nanami accepting her role as a land god toward more active supernatural conflicts that test her abilities and relationships. The first three episodes established her partnership with Tomoe and the shrine dynamics; episode 4 introduces external threats that will complicate her divine duties going forward. It serves as a bridge into the season's middle stretch, where the consequences of Nanami's compassion and her growing bond with Tomoe become central drivers of the narrative.
