This episode is truly entertaining and funny. Although the first half has a mellow tone due to Nanami feeling conflicted, the atmosphere becomes humorous again in the second half, and the story returns to its core narrative. It is interesting to consider that, up to this point, both Nanami and Tomoe have actually been grappling with their own inner turmoil.

Episode Context

Coming off the emotional high of Nanami's confession in Episode 5, this installment wisely downshifts to let the cast breathe while planting important seeds. Botanmaru's introduction and the tengu thread he brings with him are clearly designed to drive the back half of the season. At the midpoint of 12 episodes, this is a classic pivot episode, closing one emotional chapter and opening the door to a new arc.
