the simplified art at of this episode was way too cute. i just really love watching pretty people be incredibly gay for each other. and of course they are already getting fully naked around each other by the third episode, just classic yuri things lowkey.

while this installment structurally feels like a filler episode, it successfully fleshes out the cast by showcasing their distinct hobbies. integrating educational discussions about wine and their cultured appreciation for vinyl records makes them feel like actual functioning adults.

The characters pulling out the vinyls and actually knowing their stuff is ELITE BALL KNOWLEDGE bro. I literally quit drinking but if i were to start again i would totally pick whatever wine they recommend. That declaration at the end really proves they are just full alcoholics.

That absinthe scene was so good and the way they shared their past fears it just hit me

The way Ibuki watched Botan sleep and then talked about enjoying their time together was really heartwarming

Akane totally saw what was happening between them and her teasing about the onsen was perfect timing

The animation style change was a choice I'm not sure if I fully got it but the hot spring part was beautiful

I think the art style shift was genius and completely intentional, it added so much to the emotional impact of the music and their connection. It showed how much they were feeling and how the moment transported them.

Ibuki getting all flustered about the private hot spring with Botan was priceless and totally showed her true feelings

My favorite part was Botan asking to use Ibuki's first name she really is the drunken gay master
