Escalates conflicts with tighter pacing and sharper stakes. The action feels more decisive and urgent.

Mei is definitely strong and she stays calm and composed even when facing a terrifying opponent. The animation didn’t disappoint, especially in the fight against Dagon with Nanami, Maki, and old man Zenin. Dagon’s domain expansion was truly eye-catching.

Old man Zenin is fast AF! The explanation for frame interpolation in the animation actually highlights his speed in a unique way. It’s a total production flex that makes his movements feel almost too fast for the eye to track. He’s a beast.

Choso enters and rewrites the threat tier list immediately. His fighting style is genuinely unsettling to watch and that's a compliment. Yuji up against someone this dangerous with no easy out the episode doesn't let you breathe and doesn't apologize for it.

It balances strategic teamwork, the overwhelming power of a Special Grade curse, and a crazy cliffhanger that promises even bigger chaos ahead. Shibuya just keeps escalating, and it feels like we haven’t even reached the peak yet. Ohh my Toji can't wait to see more haha

The animation really never disappoints, even the coffin snap its so weird yet so satisfying to watch. It was a tense fight between geto and mei mei.

Domain battle! The visuals of Dagon’s tropical paradise turning into a "Death Swarm" are stunning. Suspense is saved by an unexpected intruder: Toji.

the story flow is quite fast with very good setting arrangement and power scale explanation from both villain and protagonist that is easy to understand. But in my opinion it is a bit boring until the cliffhanger comes.

Another ACTION centred episode, mahn I'm loving this. This one focuses more on on Naobito, Nanami, Maki, and Megumi fighting the infamous, Dagon. The fight itself had emaculent choreography and animation style like the other ep.
ABOVE ALL, this was a nice and awesome episode.

Toji vs Dagon with MAKI'S SWORD?? The man walked through a Domain and started cleaning house like it was nothing. MAPPA went absolutely OFF on this episode's animation every frame is a painting. Domain vs Domain mechanics being explored this deeply?? JJK is on another level.

The chaos in Shibuya hits a new level as Toji appears, completely flipping the battlefield. His sheer presence makes every move feel deadly and unpredictable. I was hyped seeing him dominate the fight and the city feel alive and dangerous at every turn.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at episode 14 of 23, 'Fluctuations' is deep in the Shibuya Incident arc — the sprawling centerpiece of Season 2 that followed the Hidden Inventory prologue. It picks up directly from the escalating chaos of 'Red Scale' and serves as the first half of a two-part sequence, with 'Fluctuations 2' continuing these concurrent battles and their consequences immediately after.
