Ok, not without a little of what feels like retcons, the third part brings back a most enjoyable villain and sets up a long term objective rapidly. Our rude-to-his-mother (not for long) protagonist does encounter hardships fast because of that, and on his school nonetheless. In a true to fighting shounen faction, there's some good ol' minor enemy encounter in here, and it even leads to gaining a strong ally. Hey, if it ain't broke.Some of the moments were brutal and unhinged though, a reminder of what 80s fiction could be like, heck yeah! Substance, emotional investment and high stakes will have to wait one more episode though.Oh and also, just one more episode for one of the most famous fanfic ships to sail, and a very well known meme from this series and a beloved side character character, somehow in the same episode despite them being sexually contradicting (or perhaps they are complementary, who knows).

The stand battle begins - Jotaru vs Kakyoin

Kakyoin shows up at school so we get to see his design for the first time. The fight in this episode is short but it proves Star Platinum isn't just for show. Pacing is still in setup mode but the character dynamics are getting spicy. I'm loving every second of it. OwO
