This episode mostly focused on the tension that had been building, and I guess the war will break out in the next episode. All sides were preparing for war. Not much interesting happened since there weren't any fight scenes yet.

Episode 9 perfectly pays off the build-up from the previous episodes.

Episode Context

The OVA shifts into a graver register here, trading the series' trademark irreverence for sustained tension and political weight. Yuriko takes center stage, driving a careful investigation with Yamamoto at her side, while the Raalgon Empire fractures under its own internal pressures. The tone is deliberate and layered, expect less comedy, more chess. Character motivations are scrutinized, alliances feel uncertain, and the interstellar conflict begins to reveal the machinery operating beneath it. This is the kind of episode that rewards fans who have been paying attention, delivering dramatic momentum over laughs. Pacing is measured but purposeful, building dread and intrigue rather than resolving anything cleanly. A strong entry for viewers invested in the political and emotional stakes of the wider story.
