EPISODE REVIEWS

Jan is just so toxic🤣 Like the other guy was just a normal sincere young man trying his best but he just kept making fun and throwing insults at him

Episode Context

Tense, calculated, and sharply confrontational, this third-round tournament episode trades celebration for psychological warfare. Jan Akiyama faces off against Oomae in a lotus-root cooking challenge, and the mood prioritizes observation and intimidation over culinary showmanship. Oomae's unexpected ingredient choices, including eel and coconut, inject real unpredictability into the battle, keeping viewers off-balance alongside the competitors. Jan's ruthless, watchful approach is front and center here, reinforcing his win-at-all-costs philosophy with pointed dialogue and strategic provocations. Pacing is brisk and competitive, but the episode earns its tension through mental gamesmanship as much as cooking technique. Fans who enjoy rivals trying to outthink each other before a single dish is finished will find this a satisfying, focused installment.
