Kohaku is the classic cliché for this type of anime: the typical super-popular player who’s dated tons of girls but never felt a real connection with any of them—until our protagonist came along and completely swept him off his feet! I’m so excited that they FINALLY openly admitted they like each other; my heart was racing. Plus, the lighting, the music, and the way they convey emotions add the perfect touch.

It seems Kohaku is really scared of opening up, trying to keep his armor up. I was waiting for Kohaku’s backstory. I’m glad they’re exploring it in this episode, and you can see a glimpse of why he is so closed up. Man, I’m starting to like Oji; I don’t want him to end up hurt. I don’t think he’s going to be a real rival to Kohaku, but he’s too good to be involved in Kohaku and Yoi’s relationship. Yoi is finally being vulnerable and honest with Kohaku, and even if he’s still keeping his armor up, his body still doesn’t lie. Even with how direct he is, he’s expressing himself much better with his actions rather than with words. I really liked this development, but I’m wondering what is going to happen with Oji. In the end, Yoi and Kohaku are changing for the better with each other, opening their hearts to be their true selves instead of keeping up the appearance that their world and experiences made them be.

Wow I have to say, I really like that despite its light and fluffy story, they do progress really naturally. I like that realization moment from Yoi, and seeing why Kohaku thinks the way he is was really touching too. I have to give props to that animation near the end, the ambiance and the light OST was perfect during such scene. I do wonder what would happen to Oji and what would happen next now this has happen on episode 7.

SOOOO CUTE. I love this tandem so much and Yoi starting to act like a princess instead of a prince is refreshing

The storyline is beautiful. It gives you butterfly in your stomach vibe, and it really makes you look forward to and follow every single episode. this is a 10/10 for me for a high school romance.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming directly off Episode 6's jealousy-driven friction between Yoi and Kohaku, Episode 7 uses the school festival as a pressure release valve—and an accelerant. The shift from personal conflict to a communal, emotionally charged setting marks a pivotal turning point, allowing unresolved feelings to surface in a new context. This positions the back half of the series for deeper romantic development and higher emotional stakes.
