Danpei throwing a dodgeball to stop a whole falling kindergarten van was the most ridiculous thing ever and I loved every second of it

Episode Context

Episode 5 is where the series leans hardest into its over-the-top sports-anime identity. Expect a rivalry episode cranked to maximum intensity, built around Danko and Peiko trading flashy special moves and sheer stubborn willpower in a dodgeball clash that treats every throw like a world-ending moment. The comedy stays loud and committed, but the earnest team spirit underneath keeps it from feeling hollow. The pacing is dynamic, moving from breathless action into a more grounded, reflective stretch as the wider Kawkawa group gets space to process what they just witnessed. It balances spectacle with genuine character warmth, making it one of the more complete episodes of the season so far. Fans who enjoy rivals-as-mirrors storytelling wrapped in deliberately exaggerated sports drama will find a lot to like here.
