A surprisingly meaningful finale. What started as comedy turns into something more deeper, showing how the grunts, as fearsome as they look, have a soft spot for their branding. Funny, hilarious that even the leader of the fearsome Ken-Oh army pleaded Nobu to give him a brand.

Mahn this is the end, and it actually lands emotionally. Watching Nobu who started as a total nobody do something in the middle of a branding scene is the best the show's been. Very dark but funny episode, very emotionally packed too. Nicely done.

Ugh, another one. Digitally colored, clean lines, and trying to be funny but it's just mid. Back in my day, Akira on VHS had more grit than this whole season, we used to have standards.

Loyalty by temporary tattoo? In our country, we appreciate a bit more… permanence 😅 but it's a neutral experience, local fandom might find this funny, different culture after all.

Okay so everyone’s still waiting for the squad to drop a review on this one, guess we'll just have to host a watch party and find out together what the hype is all about!! 🥳

Another skirmish on the battlefield of my watchlist, this episode neither a glorious conquest nor a crushing defeat. ⚔️

Okay, this unit's stage was kinda mid tier this time, but the members' raw energy and loyalty to their leader is always a win for me! ✨ fighting!! 💪

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 12 closes out the season's sustained focus on the mundane horrors of daily life inside Raoh's ranks, capping a run that most recently stranded the grunts in the absurd predicament of choosing between their mohawks and their armor. It marks the end of the first cour's workplace-comedy framing before the squad's chaos carries them into Holy Emperor territory and a very different kind of trouble in future installments.
