Ah, the Valentine episode. I'd say it's surprisingly pretty fast for the anime to give this kind of episode this early, especially given that Shiki really just started living in Hokkaido, but I think it's clear the sparks were there from the beginning, it's a cute episode 8/10

The show has some great moments but there are still some areas where it's jumping to horny-comedy even when the emotional plot of the show outweighs any other part. The energy isn’t totally inconsistent, but you can feel the show juggling two moods at once.

Valentine episode with some progress on the relationship of the two main girls so far. Pacing is a bit better than past episodes. Overall a wholesome episode that focuses a bit less on Tsubasa and more on the girls.

The pacing is a bit better, although I still hope it can be better in some scenes. Beside that the episode really shows the other side and a bit of insight into Minami's personality. It also implicitly shows some hints of competition between the two girls and the main male MC.

Valentine's Day is coming! Seeing Akino and Minami team up for chocolate making was so wholesome. This shows Akino's character development. The class had some nice karaoke time but that "deep question" at the end really shifted the vibes!

Suddenly Tsubasa’s harem is growing! I love how both Minami & Sayuri are complete opposites to him and still opposites between one another 🙂‍↕️

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting at the season's midpoint, Episode 5 builds directly on the deepening bonds established in Episode 4's intimate late-night conversations, channeling that emotional momentum into a Valentine's Day setting that raises the romantic tension across the core trio. This is a pivotal transitional episode — it crystallizes the interpersonal dynamics that have been developing since the early episodes while laying essential groundwork for Episode 6, which introduces new characters and complications that will test these relationships further.
